The designer, Christine Mayer, was born in the Black Forest. She started her career by doing vocational training as a peltmonger, before studying fashion design at the University for Applied Sciences in Hamburg. Since 1999 she lives and works in Berlin with her son.
Inspired through her work as a successful costume director for numerous operas and heatre plays, she won two fashion awards in Berlin in 2004. She took this as a sign to found her own label: the life of MAYER. Peace Collection began.
Encounters with exceptional people, theatre work as well as meditations give Christine Mayer inspiration for her collections. It is particularly material that has been marked by life, which embody a source of creativity for her. She tries to sense and experience the stories, which each garment holds. It is through this specific process, through which the fabrics can be transformed into unique pieces. This, literally, creative process gives to rise to ever-new fashion metamorphoses.
Christine Mayer designs two collections per year. Charity work is essential to her as well as to MAYER. Peace Collection. With the intention of letting creative gratitude flow back, part of the income of MAYER. Peace Collection is given to various charity and children projects.
